Too good to be true? CHEAP UK shipping?

I'm in contact with another guy in another forum, who claims he has a transmission for my car, which I need badly..problem here is he's from the UK, and he claims to be able to ship it to me for only 310 british pounds.
that's it..

It costs almost $600 just to SHIP from the US, ontop of the cost of the transmission...

anyone else ever buy anything and ship from the UK?

Why buy one from the UK? (it's not cheap BTW,you should only need to pay around $100USD from the UK,shipping is cheap since the GFC) . A 722.xxx trans for a 300SD would be easy to find in the USA.

What is GFC?? I import auto parts and I have never heard of shipping that cheap.
I mean sure, I can have a whole pallet shipped from Europe to the US for $300 via ocean freight, but by the time they add all the fees, it will cost $1000 to get it here.

How is this guy shipping it? Who is he using? Does he work at the docks at Liverpool or something like that?

Post more details - dimensions & weight - & I can tell you exactly how much it'd cost to ship.
