Jam Engineering Holley carb ID, CARB approval
I found on the California Air Resources Board website the CARB approval papers for the Jam Engineering Holley replacement carb. The CARB papers list a Holley 4360C model #8677 as the approved carb.
Holley made a lot of 4360's. What is special about the #8677?

8677 specifies the CFM (450), and the primary and secondary jets used for the CARB testing. My guess is that the only thing special about the 8677 is that it was tested by CARB and that it passed of course.

I wonder why they specify a 450CFM carb when it is, According to Holley ,far too big and the best Carb for a mercedes six is the 395 CFM four barrel ??
I just replaced a 450 CFM holley on a M110 with the 395 CFM carb and it works brilliantly fixing things like fouled plugs from too much fuel down low and hard starting caused by the fouled plugs and huge flat spots when cold because of too much air volume. |

Jmela- I doubt that Jam will tell me the secrets of their licensing work. Maybe, but I doubt it.
Mercmad6.3- What 395 CFM carb did you use?
