Seattle Repair Shop Suggestions?

Any feedback on repair shops in Seattle? I have a '72 220 and am looking for comments on the various vintage repair shops in the area (Auto Europa, Phil Smart, German Car Specialists in Bellevue, etc.)

Thanks - I need to find a good place for maintenance/repair.

I've heard that Phil Smart, Inc opened up a classic car center in Seattle there, right around their shop on East Pike Street. Can't offer much in the way of a recommendation though.

I second Benz Frenz (sp?). They are located in the Georgetown area south just east of the 1st South bridge in South Seattle. It's in somewhat of a residential area.

Cash talks there and you can get great deals. They have tons of parts a few blocks away in the old Rainier Cold Storage building.

For what its worth.... I called Phil Smart for the first time yesterday and inquired about the price of a pre-sales inspection. They answered 4 hours for $440. I didn't bother asking how extensive it was, but I know the MB Dealer locally gets less than $200. Just thot it was worth posting.

Seattle

Had a chance to visit Benz Friends and they specialize in MB's from the 70's, Also had a chance to look at their salvage shop which is located about a mile away and they have a large selection of parts. Should be great source for you.

Benz Friends

I also found a german trained MB mechanic who has a shop in north Seattle. Probably will use him for my 16v

Daimler Automobiles

Phil Smart Vintage shop is located on Airport Way and specializes in restoration of MB's from 85 and older. Haven't checked them out yet. Ask for the Airport Way Prep Center.

One more "for what its worth"....I spoke with Benz Friends today and talked with Rob in their shop. His pre-sale inspection is $200 and includes a leak-down compression test. And, he is willing to go to a remote location to do a fly-by. Just thot I'd pass it along.
