Does the 300SEL 3.5 transmission make any sound while driving? - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Maybe a stupid question but for those who have a K4A 040 transmission:
Do you hear any sounds from the transmission while driving?
I can hear my transmission 'singing' relative to speed. I wonder if this is normal or a sign of a problem?

Be sure to also check your differential and fluid levels in both units, often the sound is from diff.

I checked both levels but will do again. But I doubt that it is the fluids.
It also seams that the singing sound is related to trans speed rather than absolute speed. It is not a loud noise but I can clearly hear it if i concentrate on the sound.
