Got to make room
Hey all. I posted down in For Sale but thought I'd check in up here to see if anyone wants a project.
1973 280SE 4.5. White/burgundy interior. Runs and drives well. Zero smoke. Starts right up (new $109.00 battery). Decent set of mismatched tires. Some rust spots here and there but far from terminal. I bought it from a local guy who let it sit for several years. It was damp and moldy inside so I pulled the carpets and pad, cleaned the seats and headliner and actually put a new carpet set in it - got a friend in the carpet business. It is far from perfect - the windshield is cracked and the front glass seal is shrunken/dry from years under the GA sun. The AC compressor is out of the car - removed years ago for a rebuild that never happened but I have all the parts. The dash wood trim at the windshield was trashed so I removed it. Retained for a pattern if anyone wants it. Shows about 70,000 miles on a (sometimes) working odometer, but it is anyone's guess. Overall, a great place to start. I'm a sucker for old MB so I rescued it, but I have more than enough projects. Not really sure what it is worth - thinking $1500 since it is a driveable car. Have a title. Anyone? |
