Angry Progressive Insurance Fool Coverage

Had to deal with a claims adjuster over damage from a limb falling on my 108. Ordinarily I wouldn't bother much with even trying to deal with them, but it hit on the top of the rear quarter on a body line and I figured this might get expensive. The adjuster came out from the state capital, some 90 miles or so away. She phoned the next day to tell us that the damage did not meet the $1000 deductible, which as I said I really don't expect much from an insurance co. even with a name like Progressive. But then she proceeded to say that she felt that it was a pre-existing bash since there were slight traces of rust on the exposed sheet metal. Now the damage occured two weeks ago, the agent took a number of photos when we got this policy, and this bash is quite noticeable since it alters the body line. Am I out of line here to think that paying $130 a month to people that are going to call me a liar is a completely insane. Needless to say I'm dropping their Fool Coverage to liability since I can find insulting morons much more cheaply elsewhere.

Fight it. We pay for insurance to cover us from these things...and when these things happen the insurance company always wants to pay as little as possible which means zero. Best of luck. Sorry to hear about the tree limb, that happened to me-I found out it would cost $3k to fix and knew it was crazy cause a paintless dent guy could take care of it for $350, thus I opted to fix it myself which pays 75% of estimate...might be the way to go.

If you have a spotless driving record, I recommend Amica insurance. They never quibble over claims and provide good service and great rates. Do a search for the website.

If you don't drive the car very much, you should have collector car insurance. I have about 6 cars on my policy for only $150 a year including comp. but no collision.
