i think If i could get some used flywheels and clutch assmblies it could be a viable consideration for swapping trans about. I understansd the rweasoning behind the auto trans too,it takes a lot of torque to really break one.

Supra gearbo0xes are reasonbly cheap here because in the 70's and 80's they were a popular conversion for our local holdens and fords. The steel case supra box was fitted to everything. Today we can get tremecs in wrecked Fords very cheaply.
Re the pagoda..I hope realises that pagoda prices are going insane right now and rust free car is a very valuable thing. I have a mate who just finished restioring a 230SL and has been offered $80,000 from a dealer ( who never pay anywhere near market price...) and one sold at auction in Australia lastr month for $220,000.

A 250CE no less. I needed a distributor for one of those not too long ago.

So no fears removing those two diagonal pillars that make the engine compartment so tight?
