1961 220 SEb Coupe (111) Fuel Hose
I'm working on my dad's 61 coupe due to a fuel leak. I need the hose connecting the electric pump to the hard fuel line running to the front of the car. All the places I've found it (a Cohline part) show one end having an L shaped tube with compression fiiting on the end that connects to the pump, which is correct, but the other end doesn't have a compression fitting, just a bare hose end. My dad's has compression fittings on both ends of this hose. Can anyone shed any insight on how I can get the correct part?
Thanks, Dave |

save a buck or two
You can cut the ferrules off the metal ends,
pull rubber hose off and replace with correct metric fuel line and approved clamps. no need to buy the metal parts twice, Even the high pressure oil and A/C lines are replaceable on these cars |

Prpblem solved. I called Mercedes Benz Classic in CA, and they told me the hose pictured by most parts places fits chassis # 111.021-10019000 and up. My dad's is # 111.021-10018326, which uses the hose with compression fittings on both ends, and they were able to supply it. The car must be an early 61, using some parts left over from 60. Thanks for the replies, guys.
This seems like a good board, being new to Mercedes work. I normally hang on Pelican, since I have a couple of early 911's. I think I'll be here a little more, since I'll be doing some work on my dad's other two Benzes, a 63 190SL (owned since 1975) and a 51 220 Cab A (owned since 1961).My dad's 88, and is having some problems getting down and under to work on them. |
