Question on Center Console of 1972 250

I have a 1972 250 and have a question about the center console.

On both sides of the center console there are two little square vents. What is the part number for these? I looked in the parts book but I don't see them any where.

The reason that the part is not in the parts books is b/c its essentially a "dealer-prep" part. By my reckoning, most likely from Behr air conditioning. As far as I know, the parts no longer exist. So you'll need to either recreate one or get one from a used parts house.

Good luck

Can't be. This is were the heater fan's or intake's are. My 280 had them also. And this car doesn't have air conditioning.

I've seen many Mercedes plastic parts that have a star followed by a part number, molded into them. Have you checked to see if there's a part number molded into the back of that vent grille. When all else fails, I sometimes call my local Mercedes dealer parts department for information - even if the original part is no longer availible, they may have a part number or, perhaps, what it supercedes to.

Happy Motoring,
Mark

I look on the part but didn't find any number. I was able to piece it back together and it looks like new now. I talked to the person who runs the partshop here and the part isn't listed anywhere.

I've had good luck epoxying 'unobtainable' plastic parts bak together. If you rally want 'unobtainable' try to find parts for my 1957 Auto Union - DKW. (Though, parts are still easier to find than for most French cars)

Happy Motoring,
Mark
