Radiator Rebuild
Spent most of the week hunting down a radiator for my 76. The book had it listed but I got the wrong one , probably for a 123. Ordered alternate part number and still wrong one. Decided to re-core with #1 copper (had no choice). Rumor has it that it is going to get hard to find parts for anything over 20 years old. I have noticed this on some of the parts sites. Last year parts listed and in stock, no longer exsist.

MB Radiator
Steve:
I had Jim at Jim's Radiator build a new one for my 71 250C. Made it with a three row aluminum oval core. Been about 3 years ago but I think the total cost was around $250.00. He also does the radiator work for Benzin. His address is 4119 S. 87 E. Ave (off 41st and Memorial). I noticed that the name has changed to "Tulsa Radiator" so maybe he has gone "corporate" or someone else is running the outfit. I also realize that you might have already been there. For a time he was supplying mail order radiators for other owners of older MB's to one of the other lists I used to frequent. Just a thought. Good luck. Dan

Thanks Dan,
I did try them but they wanted to order one from OKC. I had Eddie's Radiator & Tombstones ( Behind the Monument Place at 81st & Elm LOL) in Broken Arrow order two and both did not fit. I suspect they all have the same catalogs and sources. Eddie suggested I go with the re-core, same price $202 tax incl. |
