Question: 1972 280sel 4.5... brake caliper piston diameter? Anyone?
I bought a caliper overhaul kit from Orielly's for the front brakes; the seal and piston boots were way too big.
Does anyone have the front brake piston or caliper bore specs for a 1972 280sel 4.5? (My piston & bore is >2.25 in.) (I am wondering if this is a transition year, or if Orielly's plainly listed the wrong part... I don't want to just start buying overhaul kits until one finally 'fits'.)

Try a set of digital calipers from "hrbr Frgt" that will remove any doubt and they will become very handy to have.
Nail it with dimensions. |

I have a set of calipers; I just need to know what the book says it should be, so I can get the correct part.
P.S. It is 'ATE'
