Does anyone know how to remove the non-folding outside driver's side mirror?

This is the plain anodized or stainless-steel mirror installed on 114/115 chassis until late 1973--many thanks

Pull door panel, and remove the two nuts holding the mirror base.
There is also a reinforcing plate under the nuts. Get that as well, keeps the sheetmetal from flexing.

I got it off, Jim--thanks.

There was no backing plate--just the door sheet metal--and considerable coolie labor was involved in the removal
