For sale 72 Mercedes 280SE 4.5 liter, 205 photos/3 videos

Makes me rather sad to post this, but I am selling my Mercedes. Please take a look at the eBay advert, as I think all of you will enjoy it.

For sale is my 1972 Mercedes 280 SE with a 4.5 litre V8 (Model W108). It has 108,000 very gentle miles. I have put over $13,000 in parts/labour and focused only on the mechanical/electric/fuel/engine systems of the car. There are over 200 photos and 3 videos going over the car in detail.

Runs like a top, and I would drive it anywhere. It is for sale at eBay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercedes-280SE-4-5-liter-V8-205-pictures-3-videos-Stunning-classic-vintage-/161006842829

When I bought it, I sent it immediately to a revered Mercedes specialist and I said the immortal words ‘fix everything, even if it is not broken’. That is how I spent $13,000 in a 2 month mechanical rebuild. After it was finished, I sent it to live with my father in Maryland, where it is now located.

This Mercedes had lived in Southern California its entire life. Nathan bought it at an estate auction, and it appears from the only owner. Nathan never registered it and sold it to me. The original owner was the classic ‘Little old lady from Pasadena' type, as there is a AAA membership sticker stating the owner was a member since 1938. Interior is near perfect, and the exterior is very good. The only issues with the body appear to be from very slow speed grazing with stationary objects while parking in a garage or backing into things.

It is very eye catching. Everyone waves. Kids smile. An AutoWeek journalist was driving past my father’s house one day and spotted the Mercedes. He asked my father if he could write a story and take it for a drive. I was interviewed and the resulting story is located here in this PDF: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0k68csrGZR1TW1uTVJWcVRnaFk/edit?usp=sharing

Not sure what is happening, but the URL keeps getting reformatted. Sorry, the URL is actually Mercedes-Benz : 200-Series 280SE W108 in Mercedes-Benz | eBay Motors

I've reported the links being broken. Apparently they don't break for all forum posters. I don't know why they do, I'll close this thread since you have the new one that works
