How to identify W110 Motor
Picking up my new to me 1967 230.
Trying to order some basic maitenience stuff from pelican, but I see 2 motors listed. How should I go about finding out which it is? I do know it was replaced about 10 years ago with an OEM Mercedes motor.

The car that your buying is a W110 body style. The engine is a 180.945 series engine. The 110 engine that you're asking about is a 2.8L, Dual overhead cam six. I believe that you'll find the engine number stamped somewhere in the area around the distributer.

Engine no. should be stamped on the block, probably on the driver's side. If it's OEM, it should be a M180 (6 cyl).

Actually single overhead cam, I have a 68 W110 230 with a 180.949 engine. You can send the VIN with proof of ownership to the MB Classic Center and they will send you an image of the original data card with engine, trans, key numbers, etc... Free of charge!
