I found a Miata thread where someone asks the same question about the same product.
Some folks there claim to have used it with good results. Apparently it is just a mix of Propane and some other NGL's, and these have been used in gas fired refrigerators for many, many years. You would want to have all the R-12 removed if you go this route. It might not hurt to drop in a can of A/C sealant while you are at it. Pay close attention to the instructions when doing this conversion. One big difference is that in the old days we would fill up a system watching the high side and go for the suggested max psi. Today's gasses are made to where the low side is the gauge to watch. The temp of the air surrounding the car is also important. It should all be in the instructions. It is good to remember that if you have an accident and the system breaks there is a chance the NGL's in the system will catch fire, but then so will the gas in your tank. |

I bought a/c oil and will be adding that tonight.
I also bought the oil analyzer so if the oil is bad it will need to be evacuated and re-loaded. It's been two days now and it's working fine air is cold. specially today, it was +35 celsius and it worked fine. I don't like the sound coming out of it but all compressors make noise, even my newer cars. this one is 42 years old so it is doing fine. |
