w108 rear muffler?
Where would I get a rear muffler for a w108, 4.5? Peach parts does not seem to have them. The car currently has an OEMish looking Walker brand rear muffler on it, but Googling the part number gave no results. It also has holes in the bottom...
Thanks,

My 108 had a stainless system. I would strongly suggest this route if you plan on keeping your 108 a long time. You will never need to replace anything in the system for decades!
Mercedes 1970-72 280SE 4.5, 300SE 4.5, 280SEL 4.5 and 300SEL 4.5 Exhaust System Edit: A P/N search on Pelican shows $304.50 for a genuine MB 112 491 3401. I would not hesitate to call Timevalve if the non-SS muffler were even a third of that.

Csaba, both worldpac and imc are NLA. You may have to go for a universal 2 in 2 out and make it work. Or try the dealer.

About 8 years ago I bought a Timevalve system like the one linked above and I think it ran about $1,200, maybe a little less. It's annoying to think I let that w108 go to the junkyard with the Timevalve system still on it...
Best Regards, David

Yes, that is annoying :-)
BTW, David, you said that you are missing the glovebox latch too. I ended up making one out of flat aluminum. I bent a small lip on one end, drilled two holes, painted it black and it works great! I doubt anyone could tell it's not original :-)

Csaba,
Thanks for the tip! Right now I just have it locked to keep it shut. Funny these things just go missing. Thanks, David

Put a notice in the 'Parts' section of this board. Maybe someone has a 108 they are parting out.

In '94 I put the Timevalve stainless system on my 4.5 - cost $420 and is still going strong.
