I have examined my valve clearance and was unsuccessful in adjusting this. When I make another attempt, I'd like to check out the camshaft with a dial indicator and stand and/or micrometer. The service manual has opening and closing angles for intake/exhaust at the valve (2 mm lift), but not total lift.

Does anyone have the lift at the valve for a 73 280 SEL 4.5? Or alternatively, what's the minimum lobe height?

Thanks,

Sholin
