Here's an imgur album of my V8 W114 for reference. I haven't been underneath or had the motor out to check out what's going on mounting wise. (It's for sale, if anyone wants it lol)

That's a funny picture. At first glance it appeared like a Fred Flintstone powered car.

In the planning stages of my own w115 swap and had to respond to this marvelous bit of sacrilege. In case you haven't seen this, looks like they got it to sit right against the firewall, cut the braces, and flipped the driver side exhaust manifold. You sure a regular mustang oil pan (double sump) wouldn't work?

Not to pile on wrt the lowering, but I'd sure want some spring travel so I could drive the snot out of it! Good luck!

I am sure there is no need to to cut those braces out.(no use trying to out engineer Daimler Benz either...) because this swap here looks like it was done a very long time ago and still has the braces in place.

I was reading on another forum where a guy is about to put a W114 body on a Chev S10 chassis to get it low....
To me that is akin to putting the body on a house trailer chassis so it can be moved occasionally.

I love this thread!

My dear old Daddy had a 440 c.i. V8 tore outta his Dodge HD truck, and had an Isuzu I6. 5.9 diesel engine put in - that was 36 years ago. When it comes to making it fit? Make it fit!

Though as a diesel-head, I lament the loss of the 616, this is completely rad.

The only thing I worry about is that the oil pan on that 5.0 looks DEEP. Are you going to shorten it or reinforce it at all, or do you think it won't be an issue?

Pan actually look likes it has more clearance but it will be getting a plate on the bottom anyways for safety
