Hi everyone, I am hoping to get some insight into what my oel pressure should be during warm idle for my '79 350se with the m116.

Above 1 bar would be great. If it's just under I wouldn't worry. .5 bar and I'd start checking things.

On my recently rebuilt m117 it has to be a hot, slow idle for it to go below 2 bar. I don't think I've ever seen anything less than 1.5 bar.
As far as damaging something, I agree that anything over 0.5 bar should be fine.

Over the 1st line (15psi) while in gear is fine. If lower and I would switch to a thicker oil like a 20w50.

Ok great. Oil pressure is fine its up just above the 2, sometime 2.5. I am wondering if the car is idling high.

I have several cars on 5/10/15W40 that idle over 2 bar. Your car is fine, if anything it sounds healthy.
