According to my Mercedes Chassis and Body series 114/115 manual, the fusebox on the firewall is AC blower(16Amp) and heater blower(8amp).
The front fusebox on the left fenderwell is shown as the auxiliary radiator fan(16amp). Up to 3 other extra fuseboxes are shown in my book, depending on if you have power windows, sunroof, power antenna, etc... 1972 cars also have an extra fuse/curcuit for the seatbelt warning light/buzzer.
As far as I can tell, the rear window defrost(16amp) fusebox should be mounted on the same bracket but to the rear of the aux fan fusebox.
My owners manual mentions extra fuseboxes on page 51 and gives the fuse amp ratings but doesn't show the locations.
That transistor ignition unit is in a really horrible place, under the battery. I'm amazed mine still works after 30 years!

I'm going to replace some of them becuase they are buried out. My 1972 doesn't have a seat belt warning light. I know my 1974 280 had one. My battery tray is gone, due to the fact that they didn't sale sealed batteries and it rusted the battery tray out and ate a small hole in the frame.

I want and checked the fuese out and replaced the ones that were buried out.
Which is the AC blower that is in the fuesbox that is on the firewall. Standing in the front of the car is it the one on the Right?

Funny, I don't have AC so way is the wireing there and the fuse?

Your car may have been pre-wired for later installation of AC. My books don't specify which is the AC and heater fuse except to say AC-16amp, heater-8amp. Also, there's some conflict between the owners manual and shop manual regarding the heater blower circuit.
The shop manual also shows a heater fuse in the main fusebox on some models.

What I have done was put in a 8 amp fuse in the both of slots in the firewall fuse box. One of them is 16 amp though. So if blows then I will know that it is a 16 amp.

Mark- Since you own a 250 I have a question about the transmssion on these cars. Is it normal for the transmission to take a long time to switch to third gear? If I'm right the car starts in second gear unless you floor it then it will start in frist.

If your 250 doesn't have AC, then that second 8 amp fuse probably won't do anything but occupy space.

My 250 transmission always starts out in first then quickly shifts to second. I don't remember how it shifted before I had the trans overhauled, 9 years ago. I've heard there's a modification that can make the trans shift through all the gears. I also have a 1972 250C that I'm putting back on the road soon. I'll see how that one shifts.

Does your trans delay all upshifts or just 2 to 3? There is a shift control rod connected to the accelerator linkage that can be adjusted but it affects all upshifts. On these cars even ignition timing adjustments can affect the shift points.

The transmission has a long delay for the downshift to third gear from second. I thought that this would be normal. To me it feels like I'm starting in second instead of first.
