Nice work, do you paint from life, photos or memory? Just curious if you have spent time with each of these cars in the real world. Thanks for sharing these!

My paintings are done from photographs I have made at various car shows and get togethers in the Washington, DC area. I have "spent time" with these cars, unfortunately, way too little time . . .

I understand that comment, I would love to meet a collector who would allow me to spend a day or two in the garage going over all the little details on a car so I can better understand it's shape and details. I'm very hands-on and visually oriented so the more time I spend with a subject the better the final piece is in terms of accuracy. I paint from photos I take also, have heard other car artists use scale models for posing and difficult angles, that sounds like a great excuse to buy some toys!

I met a man on a flight home from Florida a few years ago, who has a collection of Cadillacs. When we started talking, I thought that meant he had two or three. It turned out that he owns 65-70 vintage Cadillacs, which he keeps in a climate-controlled facility in the Washington, DC suburbs. I was hoping to talk to him again and get an invitation to visit this place, but, alas, I never did.

No, I had not heard of him, but that's pretty good. Thanks for mentioning his work!

I have no real artistic talent. Still curious on how you reproduce the chrome effect in watercolors.

I Know if you tell me you will have to kill me. Still I will take my chances.

Our youngest daughter was half decent at doing water colors many years ago. Then she stopped. Not the easiest medium in art to develop I always thought.

Of course I like and admire your work. Ironic that I have airbrushes and a fair supply of artistic supplies..

I always felt I wanted to attempt something artistic. I just never felt the self confidence. Seems over the years when I tackle almost anything else. it usually is present. Anyways keep at it.

A lifelong friend draws classic automobiles. Real classics and not the ones perceived today as classics. I think his reasoning would be like mine. To me the cars where almost works of art in many cases in the early 1930s.

One of my many regrets in life was not purchasing a perfect restoration of a 1934 Packard car many years ago. It was a good original car before the restoration. It was just too much of an economic stretch at the time. I believe from an artistic perspective I can appreciate good types of various art forms.
