Door seal clips...how did you push in?

Hi Everyone,

Just bought door seals (71 250 w114), and ended up ripping out all twelve plastic door clips and destroying them. So I went to autozone and they had these generic universal ones which worked pretty good temporarily (ordered the official ones in the mail in the meantime).

So, now the "real deals" came in the mail and so I went to swap them out...but man they are tight. There's no room for a hammer in between the door jam to bang them in, and I can't really find a leverage point to get them in either.

How the heck do I push them in (I mean, do I have to remove the entire door?). It's has to be something simple (what am I missing?).

Thanks,

Jub

You might try putting a lubricant on the clips (Vaseline?).

This and use a short fatter "popsicle stick" piece of wood to press them home. Make sure they're actually in the hole first, though.

Will give it a try (vaseline plus popsticks).

FYI: bought URO's and now I really have to slam the doors (I'm wondering if the seals are just a little too thick). What makes me upset is that I bought ones they advertised as Meyle... then when they came they were URO's
