1975 W115 Resto MOD

Hey guys, I'll make this brief since everyone I'm sure likes pictures more than words, but I just wanted to share the progress on my W115 build. I picked it up from a friend back in 2012 needing an alternator and some tlc. Between him and I we removed the primer that covered the entire car. First plans were to build a classy cruiser.

Plans quickly changed though and I went straight back to my roots. I stuck the shop logo on the door and lowered it until I was happy haha Here's a little look at the progression of the car over the last two years.

And that brings us to now. I've just been enjoying the car a plucking away at it. Currently 302 swapping it with a c4 trans and a stock rear end. Hopefully it holds together, but this cars sole purpose is slow cruising so it shouldn't be an issue.

I guess a mod changed my thread title. Thanks haha although I thought the sarcasm was a little funny.

I was with you until the bozoku (sp?) exhaust.

Keep posting pics, I rather enjoy projects like this.

How many coils did you cut? What did you do about shocks? A friend wants to lower his 114 and I was curious about what others had done.

Thought pretty serious about dropping and putting wheels on my '72 220, but my girlfriend has taken over that project and she is all about OEM.

I can't honestly remember how many coils I cut, but just take your time and only cut out one at a time until you're happy. The front shocks are 69 Camaro shocks modified to fit and the rears are factory still.

I guess i forgot to post the purpose behind the exhaust haha

Any reason for a 302 instead of a 61X if it's a slow roller?

Edit: listen to an open-piped NA 617 before you convert to a 302. The sound might change your mind

I love it, looks like everything has been done well, you're alive right?

That's a diesel right? I have to stay gas to retain my flamethrower haha Pretty much my favorite part of the car.

I'm still alive even though the car has tried to kill me a time or two.

How's the flamethrower work?

I've seen a setup that uses a spark plug and coil a the end of the pipe, and you rev the engine and then kill the ignition to flood the exhaust with raw fuel.....

Those headlight trims always make me think of the 1950's War of the world movie.......

That's exactly how this one works. I'm doing an all new exhaust with the 302 though that will be even more radical.
