A sucker for W114 green coupes

Man..........don't know what happened. Found another green w114 coupe for sale in the local area. Fought looking at it for three weeks. Just couldn't stand it any more so..................went.................looked.............bought. just purchased a 1973 208C with a w110 motor and solex carb. It is a twin to my 1971 250C. except for the motor and those stupid power windows. Runs great, just needs paint and some interior refurbishment .....someday. My wife now gets the 250C show car and I get the 280C as my run around driver, which will, in a few years, I hope, be a show car as well.

That M110 DOHC straight six is my second-favorite engine of all time--I've had an M110 run for over 500,000 miles with just a valve job around the half-way mark

People give this engine undue shame, I love the M110! Both of mine are carb fed but I love dreaming of the injected version being stirred through the five speed three pedal arrangement.

I've had both the earlier M130 with the twin Zeniths in my 71 280S and the M110 with the Solex 4A1 in my 79 280S. Both great motors but the Solex was a nightmare. Hopefully you'll be able to keep it in good tune. Nice couple of coupe's you have there.

Thanks. I like them. My M130 is running Webers and the M110 is running really great with the Solex..............so far. It's going to be a lot of fun attending our Sunday morning Car Show with a matching pair. Check it out 1t https://www.facebook.com/groups/159564770901801/
No Mercedes...........except mine. But still, lots of cool cars. On a good day 150-200 cars show up.
