Stromberg 175 CD - which nipple for Distributor Vacuum Line

I have searched high and low, through posts etc. I am desperate to find out the original location for the distributor vacuum line in regards to attachment to the Stromberg 175CD.

Does anyone have a picture, drawing or anything that shows how it should be hooked up?

Attached is a photo of my carb, like my distributor, it may not be original to my 69. It has 3 brass nipples, all lined up, on the top of the carb-to-manifold flange. In this photo, I have a vacuum line on the first nipple, but that nipple gives constant vacuum and is NOT hooked up to the distributor.

I have the owner's manual set for my '72 250C, which includes info in the emissions book on the vacuum hookup for the 220. Unfortunately the vacuum setup is different on the '69
I also have a factory manual covering W114 & W115 cars after 1968. The pictures show two vacuum ports on the Stromberg and a single nipple on the distributor, but no pictures of the vacuum hookup. It looks like your original carb has been replaced by one for a late '70s-early '80s model.
Does your distributor have one or two vacuum nipples. I believe the ones before 1970 have a single nipple, but you said your distributor also might not be original.
If your distributor has only one, and it's a vacuum advance instead of retard as you said on your other post, I'd test for vacuum at one of the ports at the carb that doesn't have constant vacuum and see if vacuum appears/increases as you open the throttle. That's the one I'd try on your distributor.
FWIW, in my factory manual, the part number for the original 220 distributor is JFUR4 0 231 115 060 for engines with an air-injection emissions system, and JFUR4 0 231 115 064 for engines without air-injection.

Happy Motoring, Mark

I believe I have a later model carb too - not to match the carb to the distributor!

yes that is not the original, there is a book by Don Peers - Stromberg CD owners manual
ISBN0 85696300 3, that would help. Not suggesting you buy it ( quite expensive) but if you are by a large library or have access to online search , you may find your answer
However I do agree with Mark, his plan is a good one
