I haven't found the one on the tunnel yet, but that's only because I haven't taken the carpet up on the tunnel. I was able to find the mount on the B-pillar as well as the floor mount next to the inner rocker...

Thanks

Yeah, meant to say I could provide a pic. You can see how far down the attachment points are. Maybe you can feel something thru the carpet.

Thanks. Interesting, in other pictures of fintail tunnels I have seen the tunnel mount in a different (higher) location. As the floor mount is blanked out, I suspect that the tunnel mount is also. Removing the carpet is easy, it's not glued in, just need to get around to it.

Thanks for the picture! If you happen to know if the bolt thread pitch is the same as the b-pillar it would be useful information.

If it's not convenient there is no rush. Just useful to know.

Mercedes offered lap and diagonal belts from the first Fintails but not all cars came with the bolt hole in the rocker at the bottom of the B pillar although there should be a threaded hole in the upper part. Also, not all came with the tunnel bolt either. All of them have the bolt holes in the hat tray on the far outside edge but nothing in the lower part . This changed with the 1965 models *W111 and W110 .
They all have the required bolt holes .
Mercedes sent out a bulletin around 1962 with dimensions regarding the fitting of belts .
The first pic shows coupe seat belts but the floor mount positions are the same as sedans. The second pic shows how the belt mounts are fitted to the bottom of the rear firewall behind the rear seat.

My '60. Fintail 220S had no factory seatbelt mounts in the floor or pillars. I added belt anchors for the front seats. The custom threaded plates to anchor shoulder-belts to the B-pillars were a pain to fabricate.

Found the bolts at the B pillar and tunnel to be M10 x 1.5 The length of bolt just to be a hair under 1 inch.

The B pillar bolt has the collar and spacer to supposedly allow for rotation of the selt belt when bolted in.

Manual belts or retractors? Vintage style aluminum or chrome buckles?

Also, yes, many heckflosse do have a threaded mounting hole on the parcel tray for installing a shoulder belt.

Pictures of the installed MB inertia reel belts...

Thanks for the pictures, heckflosser! Are the reels tilted toward the front of the car? I think the problem most people had with trying to fit the reels is that when they are even a little tilted, the reels would lock. Another problem was the webbing rubbing on the seat material. Do you have this problem?

Also, can you slide your seats all the way back without them hitting the reels?

Do those reels mount on the inner rocker, or do they have an L shaped bracket that mounts to the floor? I am so intrigued at the idea of having functioning retractable shoulder belts in a W111.

Here are a few pix of the 3-point retractable belts in my 230S. I worked with Beam to get all the parts and lengths right. If anyone is interested I can send all the info so you won't have to re-invent the wheel. Some of the mounting poinst are under the sound deadening material so they are not readily apparent. These are modern inertia belts that might actually save your life.
