Possible Faulty Fuel Tank Vent Valve
On my '77 280E is the old style vent valve of two separate chambers and diaphrams. When ever the tank is full and after driving on a curvy road, gas fumes are noticable at the rear of the car, so I am guessing the vent valve is prematurely opening.
The only replacement I can find is the little check-valve type and they seem to come in two kinds - one with two hose fittings and one with three hose fittings. Has anyone ever replaced the original vent valve with one of these little things?

Fuel tank vent
Did you ever get a fix on that? I think that my fuel is leaking outta the hose that connects from the fuel tank to the fuel tank vent. Does anyone know if that is possible

Hey, don't know if this helps.
But this is currently for sale on ebay (don't really see these that often).
