W114 Front seat disassembly help
Hello gang! I have front seat pads and covers and am trying to install them on the w114 sedan. How does the armrest come off of the passenger seat? How does the seat come apart? The covers seem to slip on and off and lock in place with a little leather tab.

Nobody knows how to get the arm rest off?
Inside the seat frame is a 20something mm monster nut. Do I remove this? On the "cap" side (visible) of the armrest is a strange collar nut with a 7mm tension bolt. With the 7mm bolt removed I am still unable to get this odd fastener to budge in either direction even remotely. Suggestions? |

If I remember correctly, when the little friction bolt is removed the slotted "castle nut" spins off counterclockwise from the threaded hollow tube that runs through the armrest--perhaps a dose of PBB Blaster will loosen it--good luck

It is strange that the friction nut is giving trouble. That nut has a radial slot that is pinched by the 7mm screw that you removed. The nut is normally quite free once the pinch of the screw is released. The threads on the pivot tube are right hand, i.e., CCW to remove. Can you reach an angle screwdriver into the slot to pop the halves free? |
