Dr. Kurt Oblander, chief of engine design for Mercedes in the 1960s, is largely credited with the design og the M100 (6.3/6.9) engine. Isn't the M116/117 engine family basically a scaled down version of the M100 engine, and wasn't it also developed under his oversight?
