Thanks

Chilton's books aren't great, but what you want is the "Big Blue Book", the MB factory manual, which is actually titled "Service Manual - Passenger Cars Starting 1968 - Series 108 -109 - 111- 113 - Maintenance, Tuning, Unit Replacement".

There was a guy on Ebay that was selling a PDF scan of the W108/109 manuals that covered everything from the early cars with carbs, the versions with mechanical fuel injection, the 4.5, the 3.5 and even the 6.3. These are high quality scans and include everything the factory manuals do.

I think he was asking $28.00 or so. The guy is in the UK so the US price goes up and down a bit. Buy it and then you get an e-mail with the attachments. You download the attachments and there you are.

Very handy to have around, but since they are scans of the original you sometimes have to think like a 1970's service tech to understand them.

The factory CD from the classic center is what you really want. Though it may well be out of stock. Google them and give them a call.

Your next best bet is the big blue book, which is only one thing on the CD. The CD also has the A/C manual, a copy of the owners manual, sections from the maintenance manual and an owner's parts book.

The A/C manual is a good thing to have, but there are other sources for that info since it is rather basic.

But when you move into the mid 70's and start dealing with that Chrysler based servo controlled A/C...... Spring for the A/C manual. For that system the manual is a must have.
