White smoke only after oil change...?
Hi everyone,
When your valves start going bad (valve seals), it causes white smoke to come out of tail pipe after you let it sit overnight...then goes away. In my case though, I get white smoke after I'm on the freeway for 30-40 min, BUT only after I change my oil (or oil/filter). About a day or two later everything is back to normal and no smoke (even if I drive top speed for hours; and even if I let it sit for a time). It makes me avoid changing my oil (so un-cool) So, my question is: does this fit the valve seal gone bad model (why only after oil change? Am I overfilling or something?) Thanks,

bad valve seals will cause smoke at start up or after idling for awhile, ususally not white
White is more associated with water vapor or a lean carb setting not sure how that is related to your oil??

Sometimes the oil smoke does appear white. It should blueish. It is hard to tell when your driving. It does have a distinctive odor. Is it a lot of smoke? If you can see it form your rear view mirror at 40 I would think yes.
Best thing to do is be sure it is oil smoke. I would check the spark plugs for any fowling. If it is coolant in your combustion it will seem like steam and vapor off quickly on a warm dry day. You could change your oil again and see what happens.
