73'280se 4.5 questions
Okay I will try again. I messed up the first one and had to delete it.
1973 280se 4.5. 1 owner, cold A/C, runs great, Michelin tires, all power works, no sunroof. It has been maintained by the same shop since 73'. It has all the records. 208k miles believed to be accurate. Original navy blue paint that is faded. Original interior like new. $2900. I am looking at the car closely tomorrow. I need a few tips on what to look out for. Does anyone have any advice? Does the price sound fair? Thanks! later,

The price is high if it's not in good cosmetic condition. A GOOD paint job can cost an additional 3,000$.
I would expect a pristine interior, decent paint, and absolutely no rust on the underside of the car. Rock bottom is 1,000$ for a car with poor paint, shabby interior, some rust, but passes a safety & emissions inspection. -CTH |

The car has been in Ga. and is southern history. he said there was no rust. I will know more tomorrow night. The guy lives 5 doors down from my Dad in Marietta so we are going down and spending the night. I will have plenty of time with the car. I will post from my dads house tomorrow evening.

A lot of people say "no rust" knowing they mean "no visible rust". The car has to go on a lift. Walk under it & look for holes. Wiggle the wheels while you're down there and look for suspension issues.
