power steering hissing and frothing

Anybody run into this?

I'm getting hissing coming from the PS reservoir. When I opened it, it was pink, and frothy.

I'm guessing it's sucking in air from somewhere. I had replaced the seal on the PS pump a few years ago. Any thoughts?

If there are no obvious leaks then I'd look at the return hose - sometimes if the outside is looking a bit moist...

...when did you last change the oil and the filter?

Are those lines still being made or do I need to go to a local shop?

The lines on the W123 are still available from the dealer - so I guess the W115 parts will be available too - but you'll probably find the pressure hose is much cheaper when made locally so long as they can get the fittings.

% years ago is too long a service interval. (Slapped wrists etc)
