1970 250C Project

Hey Everyone,

I purchased a 1970 250c from CL here in MN for my next project. There is barely any rust (AZ car) and the interior is in decent shape but will need some work. I barely drove it home about three blocks away from my house which the previous owner had at local shop to have one of the carbs tightened up (loose on the manifold). I bought it as is without having the carb work done since I figured they needed to be rebuilt. Here is what I have done so far.

1. Gas tank was removed and restored for $200 (and new tank filter)
2. Started on front brakes rebuilt calipers and new pads
3. Rebuilt carbs with Royze kit (we'll see how they turn out)
4. Trying to rebuild fuel pump with new rebuild kit from ebay. It was full of rust but working before I took it apart. I can get the pump to pump gas from the tank by moving the arm by hand and I was able to get it to pump gas with the motor but then after a few hours of sitting it won't pump. Thinking about going electric but hard to find any info on this change. I'm kind of at a loss on the pump. A new one from the dealer is like $200. When I look at Pelican parts the picture of the pump is not the same style
5. While working on the pump and pumping gas I'm, still getting rust particles through the lines so I will replace the fuel lines with new 5/16" lines (already flushed them out with kerosene and air multiple times)

My list so far

1. Replace Exhaust
2. Fix rear passenger window motor or switch
3 Fix Lights go through electrical (condenser fan wire hanging loose)
4. Battery tray rusted
5. Go through rear brakes
6. Fix drivers seat (hardware is broken on back)
7. New tires
8. Tune Carbs
9. Replace belts, coolant lines, water pump

Let the adventure begin. I can't wait to drive the Coupe this summer.

Erik

Great looking car! Do you know the color? I couldn't tell if it was white or beige. The headlights appear to have some sort of plastic cover or diffuser. Do you know what that is?
