Headrest colors, in leather, cognac...arrrrg!

Hi everyone,

I have been collecting cognac interior pieces for my w114, and have finally everything (door panels, seats, etc), except headrests.

So I ordered a set-too light (tan), then another-too dark(tobacco). So then I was sure I had it right (third times a charm)...but it was mbtex not leather!

Aside: I noticed that leather ones didn't have those vent holed on side of headrests like the leather ones do. Does this hold true, or just coincidence. I ask because if I keep searching on fleebay for the ones I want (right color/material), I can quickly rule out headrests with holes?

Jub

Here's a pic of ones which are right color but wrong material (note the vent holes).

Hey Jub, the hole on the side in my car is for inserting a wrench to adjust the headrest. Look at this post I made last year.

Hey Baxterdown,

That post will definitely help: when I removed my headrest, one of the prongs came off and I was wondering how to get it back on.

I'm thinking that the hole/no hole thing has to do with the year of car? Maybe newer ones had holes because they fixed this issue (headrests breaking), in later years by making them adjustable?

Or maybe they perfected them and later ones didn't need holes (thus the newer ones had no holes)?

FWIW I _think_ I have a rear seat bottom and back skin in Cognac. New. Might be missing the armrest. Not sure if it is leather or MbTex. Let me know if you want me to find out.
