Vacuum Locks Question
Hi guys,
My vacuum locks have been malfunctioning since I got my car last year. I opened the driver's door trim over the weekend and noticed the pin highlighted in yellow below had come out of the hole on the left. I put it back in, but every time I turned the key the pin snapped out again. I cannot tell if the pin broke on the left side or if it might be backwards where the long tail goes on the left hole and the short tail on the right. I searched this forum but only found a post on the passenger's door lock. I looked on EPC and the diagram for this part it tiny, so I cannot make out the pin. I also did a Google image search for "w108 door lock" and didn't come up with anything that would help figure it out. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jose

you pin looks like it has seens betters days, it should hook in by nature of design and stay there
Any way you can secure it? IIRC there is a small metal sleeve that sits on the end of it . Perhaps someone will have a picture

Hey guys, thanks for your replies and John, thanks for the part number!
I had forgotten my mechanic has a W108 (or what's left of it) behind his shop and had told me that I was welcome to pick it if I ever needed anything. So, I went there after work today and the door mechanism was intact. So, I got the pin! I hope this solves the issue...

I converted my vacuum lock system to electric using Volvo fuel door lock motors so that I could have keyless entry. I left the vacuum system there in case I wanted to revert at some future time. I had a bunch of air leaks in my system.
