One very important thing is what it is: a coupe, sedan or convertible as the value of a ratted out convertible is as much or more than a very nice sedan. I believe all 3 were offered as a 220s in 1959. Also, the originality of the components are important: proper engine, transmission etc. And of course the obvious: rust, mechanical condition, etc. Anyway, they are beautiful cars!

What's it worth?
Just ran across a 1959 220S two tone green that's for sale. Engine has been rebuilt about 10K ago. Wood has been refinished, no rust (haven't been able to do a bondo test yet), paint is in nice condition, dent on one rear fender, couple tears on the seats. Needs a battery and has just had some work done on the carbs. She look nice! It hs been donated to a charity and they are selling it. What are some things to keep in mind hear in placing a value on this car? Thanks much for any comments and opinnions!

Whoops--it's a four door sedan. Chrome is nice. It has the automatic clutch with four speed on the column. Speedometer is sporadic and clock doesn't work. Total miles on the car is estimated at around 170K.

I think that they are neat cars, but I would not get on the wrong side of $3-4K, especially with the Hydrak.
