Valve Adjustments
I noticed a difference in clearances mentioned in the Mercedes Maintenance Manual and ever other manual I have.
In the theirs. They say that with a cold engine the clearance can be .1 mm for the intake and .2mm for the exhaust. In the Clymer's & Haynes it says .08mm .18mm. Is this because the latter manuals are making and exceoption for wear on the Camshaft and Rockers?

I think the Clymer's is a misprint and they mean .08 and .18. I would go with the MB spec.

Rocker/cam wear are why you adjust the valve lash. The specs. on your car should be int-.004", exh.- .008" [ .1mm, .2mm] |

So why do you think that Clymer and Haynes would both say smaller values than the Mercedes manual?

The difference is .001" , prob. the difference between warm and cold setting temps.
