Mercedes W111 Coupe and Cabriolet registry

Hello!

I have published a site about the actual known W111 Coupes and Convertibles with numbers and colours. It would be nice, if you could give me infos about not listed cars and i'll add them to the registry:
Mercedes W111 Register

Thanx!

How did you determine the listed cars exist and where they are? I see my car on the registry (111026-10-003414)but there are no colors.

Hi!

The data come from auction results, car dealers and posts in forums. I cant say if the cars still exist. What are the colors (ext./int.) of your car and are they original?

Konny, I have VINs with pictures for about 150 W111 280SE 3.5 coupes and 100 280SE 3.5 cabrios. I can put them on a USB stick or DVD and mail them to you, unless you have a dropbox or so where I can dump 2GB of pics organized in folders by VIN.

Anybody else who is interested in these, feel free to email me.

Wait! Tony! you have a 3.5 coupe with manual?!! and you want to change it to 5.6?

may i ask why? aren't the 3.5 coupes with manual the creme of the crop in terms of rarity and value? and isn't the 3.5 coveted for its awesome high rev limit?

is it a low grill as well?

I'd love to see pictures. what a great color combination.

last question, can i have your 3.5 engine if you swap it out lol

Everything I am changing on my coupe is bolt on so no permanent changes. True the 3.5L is a high revving engine but I think my combination of the 5.6L with the 3.27 rear axle will make for a more drivable and relaxed combination-power when I need it and quieter cruising. It was a little busy with the 3.69 rear axle and when I installed the 3.27 axle it slowed it down a bit.
I don't think there is any premium with the stick shift-it is rare but more of an oddity than desirable. I specifically sought one out since I like stick shifts though. I think the lack of a sunroof affects the price more than anything but I also made that mandatory.
I'm keeping everything that is original to the car but the 3.5 was used in several cars so they are around.
My car was a well used daily driver so it needs a lot of restoration-it's been in progress for a while.
