Battery cable replacement 1976 300D
I need to replace the positive battery cable on my 76 300d. How difficult of a job is this?

Depends on your car. Could be a filthy, slimy mess or a relatively simple task.
Key thing. At the connection to the starter, spray the nut with a rust buster solution of your choice several times. It is not unusual for corrosion to develop at this point. If you try to force the nut off then be prepared to snap the lug to the solenoid. This means you'll need to drop the starter to replace it. PITA which can be easily avoided. The nut can be accessed from the top by using an extension, socket and ratchet. Remove the air filter housing for access. You can get it from underneath. Its a bit trickier piddling around trying to get the socket lined up but you don't have to remove the air housing. Six of one, half dozen of the other deal.

Hmm
I agree.
It would also be a good idea to brace the cable, while breaking the starter nut loose. .
