the best swap choice?
hi
so i know of a super clean 617 non turbo that may well require another engine 1 is it worth fitting the turbo 617 or would this devalue the vehicle? 2 is it worth the effort to fit the turbo version? value vs effort etc 3 would it be a good idea to fit the turbo version minus the turbo intake system? 4 should i just locate and fit another n/a 617? thanks in advance for any usefull input |

Hi Smog Monkey,
1. if the vehicle requires an engine, it requires an engine. Are you flipping to make a profit or enjoying the car? If you are enjoying the car you determine the value. What will make you happy? If you are flipping and maximizing profit the answer is different. Diesels are not likely to get insanely high resale prices that 1955 Mercedes Benz Gull Wings with original numbers matching Pebble Beach Concourse de Elegance winners get. Make it run safely and reliably is always best. The discussion here in the Vintage section is likely to produce different opinions regarding engine choices than over in the Diesel section. Best regards, Jeffrey
