The cooling system for a 220b is the same as the cooling system of the 220Sb. The engine blocks are the same. The carburetors and other peripherals may be different but it is still the 2195 liter straight six cylinder engine.

Wow, that's a huge motor for a car that size. My fin cars are more like 2195 cc.

I checked your VIN with EPC and looks like the part numbers are the same.
#28 111 501 04 82
#26 110 500 01 91 - aluminum pipe
#31 110 501 04 82
#23 110 501 02 82
All parts were from Chassis 027964 on up. Not sure if EPC means chassis or VIN as I guess those can be different, right?

If I do hoses , I guess I should change out thermostat , basic thermostat for these ol gals or something special ?

I just bought one for mine, it was about $10. Got a new radiator cap too, $25, kind of pricey I thought but it was about the best price I could find.

need to replace some bulbs on Dolly , specifically the 3 W, 10W and 18W , rear light bulbs . I have a box of bulbs from all my old cars but none of these, where oh were do you find them , this site did not list nor dis a search return much , ideas ?

Yes, please do, I have some bulbs out too. Any information is appreciated. Also, any thoughts on replacing them with LED bulbs? I know its not original or traditional but they would improve our visibility, especially from the back. Just thinking safety!

so why is this not simple, new thermostat from PP recommended 87C, but now I see two choices 79/87 c which one and why different temps being offered ?

When I cracked open my t stat recently, it was an 87. Usual running temp was 180 on the gauge.

THanks, I am going with the 87 now. Evidently MB says both are OK , the earlier models had a recommendation for VERY hot climates to run the 79. I realize it is just the opening temp and not running temp so I am good with it

so I began the Solex PICB rebuild. So far I have found two gaskets that are shot, and a lot of dirt , a lot . And dang there are a lot of screws and ports. Overall however pretty straight forward. I am trying to figure out how many of the screws actually adjust something or just fill a port

completed rebuild, was not too bad , took lots of notes and pictures, thanks Josh and Greg for your expertise as well . I know there are no tutorials out there for the solex 34 PICB, so perhaps I can clue someone in someday . Of course its not on the car yet , but I have faith . She sure does look pretty

hopeful my next update is a running car without a leaky carb, then on to number 2 !
