Vintage cars flooded in Houston.
The city of Richmond, Texas, is under water. This is a bad thing for many reasons but two stand out to me.
First there is a rare book store with books dating back to the 1600's. (This is one of those things where they have to know you before they will offer them for sale.) Hopefully they were able to take those to a higher floor. Second: Close to Richmond is a storage building that is filled with restored Mercedes, most of them from the 50's and 60's. If they did not move them then they are 100% under water. This means they will be hitting the insurance auctions over the next few months. So start saving those nickles and dimes! I don't know what they will sell for but I have seen some of the flood cars coming out of the central Texas area. They are covered with mud from top to bottom both inside and out. These will be long term projects so don't expect to pick up a 230sl cheap and drive it home. But this should be worth keeping an eye on. |
