All great stuff. Thank you. My family couldn't find any of the documents(insurance, title, reg, plates). Anyone have any idea on where to start for that? Of course there's no vin. All I see is the 114.015 chassis number. I can't even confirm the year.

Vin should be on the frame / fender in the engine bay I believe.

There are 2 of 3 things I think you need in order to bother restoring a car (without sentimental / illogical reasoning):
1) rust / rot free body
2) mechanically sound / good runner
3) cosmetically pleasing

Right now, I'm not seeing evidence of any of the above. Rust / rot free seems to be the easiest to obtain of the above. I'm pulling for you here. Hopefully the body is solid being a western car. But clearly it's currently a lost cause in the cosmetic category. So the final item is my hope that the mechanical aspects (like the engine compression and transmission) aren't too bad.

The upper radiator support will have the VIN plate on it. It will be black or green. Look for it on the body just in front of the radiator.

The 114.015 is the body style and the engine type. .015= 2.3 six cylinder. The next two numbers will be 12. 1= Left hand drive. 2= automatic transmission.

The next six numbers will be the sequence the car was produced in.

So the VIN will be something like 114.015-12-123456.

There might be a production date on the drivers door jamb.

Post all the VIN numbers and maybe someone can help figure out what year it is supposed to be.

I may be wrong here but I think the 2.3 six cylinder in the 114 went away in 1969 and the 230's after that were four cylinders with the sidedraft carb.

Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Does the car have side marker lights? Those started in 1968 and were not on the 1967 cars.
