HELLA Fog Lamp needed for '72 220D

Hello,

A fog lamp on my '72 220 Diesel recently fell victim to a flying rock on the road. The lens is badly cracked and I am looking for a replacement.

The rest of the assembly (bulb socket, etc) is in poor shape and does not work reliably, so I'd like to find a replacement for the whole thing. I don't care if there's some rust on the reflector, I only care if it works.

It takes an H3 halogen bulb.

Thanks!

Unfortunately the link you posted didn't work. Does anybody have any of these old HELLA fogs laying around? I'm willing to buy one at a reasonable price - even with a tarnished or moderately rusty reflector. Just needs to take an H3 bulb and have a good lens.

You might check with Tim Kraakevik.

He posts on this board. He has an ad over in the "Used Parts" section. He had a bunch of W114-115 parts for sale.

He still has a couple fogs with unbroken glass. One looks like a Bosch, the other's a Hella.

Happy Motoring, Mark

I very much doubt they will have ones that match the original.

Anyone who says you can by this new I believe to be mistaken. It's remotely possible that there might be lenses somewhere NOS, but I really doubt it. When you find one if it's cheap you will be damn lucky, as these have been snapped up for a variety of different purposes. They are really nice lights and people use them on things more interesting than a W114.

I have a box of foglight parts, I don't know if I have the late style (H3 bulb) with a good lens. I'll try and look. In the meantime I would scour ebay if I were you.

Good news! I was able to purchase a new lens and reflector/bulb holder assembly from Tim Kraakevik. The parts arrived in the mail today, and I installed them on my vehicle.

I also 'rejuvinated' the rusty parts of the fog lamp reflectors with some aluminum foil tape, which brightened up the lights quite a bit!

Now, both fog lamps work properly with no broken lenses.

That's neat. It's always nice when someone is willing to share NLA NOS parts.
