I will probably go for 3 of these and do my own manifold and linkages.
500 dollars for 3 so not a big loss if things go toes up. |

Question.
When I check for images of intake gasket for 280's I see two kinds. 1. 6 holes, obviously. 2. 7 holes ??. What's the 7th and smaller hole for ? See attached images. |

Based on engines in general, the 7th port ( bottom middle of the RH pic ) is for engine coolant to keep the carb warm or an EGR port for use with a head drilled through to the exhaust side.
I'd call the LH pic a gasket for FI and the RH pic for carb. I'd need to see the other side of the intake / full install to be sure. |

Has anyone any info or experience on removing the Kjet manifold from the block.
Is it a simple job or are there any problems that can jump up and bite you on the ##### Thanks in advance. |

Cancelled the 3 (webers)!!!! full info from a few people is that they are copies and not worth the hassle.
Back to looking for either two SU HIF 6 or two HS8 carbs I can rebuild with repair kits. |

A note on the Webers. Original or copy, they are immensely tunable by changing air bleeds , emulsion tubes, jets and venturi. If a person just bolts them on and expects good results, they will be disappointed.
If they are truly build bad or have tuning parts that are inconsistent, that is an entirely different situation. |

This is a euro car. The U.S. version 280e has lower compression so the parts are different. Are the carb version and FI version of the M110 using the same cylinder head?

I'm still trying to figure what problem needs to be solved. CIS is a pretty reliable system and parts are available used or rebuilt at reasonable cost.

It's just something I want to do. I don't expect to gain any performance or mpg gains from it. I'm a crusty old retired quality control engineer and just love playing around with things mechanical and petrol based. I've had the old girl ( 280 SLC ) for about 18 years and it's a 3rd car so it's not 'main' transport. Carbs I know and I'm happy with. When you say CIS I'm taking it you mean Kjetronic? Yes I could buy a recon unit but one it's there I can't play with it or sevice it. Further back I posted that being in Thailand means no-one knows anything about Kjetronic, the only injectors they know are on/off, when you try to explain constant they only reply is Ah, broken not work right. All above meant in the most light hearted manner. PS If you know anyone who has two HIF6 or two HS8 SU Carbs I will send them cash tomorrow.😆😆😆 |

Funny you should post that now as yesterday I was looking at a set of 4 Mikuni from a CB Honda, 1100 I think.
I calculated my engine as minimum needs 320 cfm at 6000 and wasn't sure if a set up with three of them would supply that plus a bit (say 30%) so it doesn't run out of breath. Andy. |

Would the 3 Y manifolds need a balance connection, say half inch tube to connect all three?
