New to the W114... a few questions

Hey all, I recently purchased a W114 sedan. It's a 1974 280 and I'm pretty happy with it so far.

A few questions I have though:

-Can you swap in the older-style steering wheel into the later W114 cars?

-Can you swap doors from the earlier cars, to get that sweet sweet window vent?

-The Parking Brake warning light flashes if I try to accelerate too quickly (Ha!) away from a stop... what the hell is it doing that for? Could it be as simple as a wire moving around under acceleration or is my car telling me something else?

-Any preferred MB shops in the Orange County, CA area?

-Go-to source for parts? Or is it all Craigslist, eBay, and Pelican?

-Any random things I should know?

Thanks everyone!

The brake warning light is being activated by fluid level sensors in the brake master cylinder reservoir.

Good stuff, thanks guys

Now to check my brake fluid and find "affordable" front doors and an older steering wheel to swap over.

You might find this handy. Manual for the /8's.

I'm pretty sure all the 114/115 sheet metal changed for 1974--doors, hoods, grilles--and the taillights and bumpers are completely different as well.

You might want to verify part numbers at Adsitco before you try to swap components in the later chassis with earlier ones--best of luck

All four doors will swap between the early and late 114 and 115 vehicles, as will the steering wheels, gear change levers, tail lamps, and bumpers. Hoods and fenders, however, will not swap unless they are replaced together (the later version has a wider grille).

114/115 Benzes are wonderful vehicles. My favorites are the old 220 Diesels, one of which I currently own.

Help! I am in search of the wiring schematic for the power windows in my "71 250c W114 with the M130 engine, NONE work and there is no power to any of them at the switches.
I have checked all the fuses I can find and all are good. I used my DVOM to check for power at the fuses. I am a retired technician from a Rolls Royce Bentley and Cadillac Dealership in the Chicago area. I was shop foreman and electrical was my area of expertise however, I am not familiar with German cars, Yet, and cannot for the life of me figure out what the heck is going on. I have a Clymer manual and it is very lacking in Electrical. Which relays and which fuses are for the window? I have fuses on the firewall, two fuses with power to one of the fuses and no power to the other, inboard fuse. There are fuses above the fuse box, three sets of fuses, I have power to some and some have no power wiring to them. What am I missing?
I have no power to the windows, no power to most of the interior and where do I find where to post New Posts? Again I am missing something HELP. Please...

Address of the manual is in a previous post.

The fuse boxes on the 114/115 vehicle firewall usually feed the power windows and the supplementary fan. These boxes are notorious for corroding internally even though all the connections look clean and bright.

I finally replaced all the fused firewall wiring with inline glass fuses in plastic holders. You might try running a live jumper to the disconnected fused-side wiring to see if you can't provoke some action--best of luck
