1972 220 gas automatic

I asked for advice on the diesel forum. Wrong forum. A friend has a 1972 220 sedan. She is the original owner. I think it has 80,000 miles. It has been garaged for the past 15 to 20 years. they put it away because "something broke" when their teenager was driving it. The radiator is removed, I'm thinking they overheated it. The car is complete. Pristine cloth interior and dashboard. The front 3/4 of the car looks good. The trunk and rear fenders have some rust. I don't have the room for it. She wants to get rid of it. Any value to a member? She lives in White Plains,NY. Thanks in advance for any help. Thank You Dave

Sometimes owners of these older cars have an inflated impression of their value. Please warn your friend that a non-running w114/w115 with rust issues has very little value. I paid $800 for a running but rusty w114 and probably overpaid. I bought it for the interior primarily. Depending on the condition of the interior, I would put its value at somewhere between $400 and $1000. Maybe pass that along in case it helps your friend prepare for possible disappointment.

I'm not trying to sell it. I'm asking if it has any value to a member, to keep it from going to the crusher. She doesn't have an inflated value, she wants to get rid of it. If anyone can use it she will give it to them. This is not a "can I come get the seats deal". If you want the parts, the rest of the car comes with it. Thanks Dave
