Increasing air flow on k jetronic

Everything you google comes up with answers on the sensor plate and I already understand all that.
Simple question,
When you push the throttle what and where is it that opens up to increase the flow of air into the engine?
Is is a flap or flaps somewhere that operate like a butterfly flap in the old style SU carbs inside the manifold or what?
Thanks in advance.

Basically yes. Follow the accelerator linkage. The "butterfly" is located between the fuel distributor and the actual intake.

Just to add there is still a plan to go to carbs and get rid of the k jetronic.
Where I am there isn't really any enforcement on emissions or noise to really worry about.
Ongoing at the moment with the manifold built.
I will probably end up with two or three manifolds for different carbs etc but thats what I enjoy doing.
