Battery size
Good afternoon,
Would anyone know the correct/factory battery size (physical dimensions and other attributes etc) for a w111 3.5 coupe? Thanks a lot. Dave

For my 108, (unsure whether or not 111 shares battery tray) battery size is 49, which measures 14 x 6.7 x 7.5.
Leno's got a new video up on youtube with his now-restored 111, if you 've got 20 min to kill. |

Ignore the marketing hype, heat kills AGMs fast, you want standard lead acid wet battery under the hood.

Thanks all. I found that a Type 334 is correct. Your help is appreciated.

Glad you found it. I wonder what the US equivalent of a 334 is? We don't have those on this side of the pond.

Looks like Leno has a size 49 in there. PepBoys has 30% off right now, $121 for a Bosch. Shop around, of course... but my Advance Auto 30% off code expired, and PB appears to be the best buy currently.
Edit: Whoops, you're in the UK. So buying advice is limited to the Continental US only

The big 49 group size is pretty common in older cars. Really overkill with modern batteries though. Red top optimas are great if you don't mind the look.
